Ski Bluewood Resort - Washington

Ski Bluewood Resort
A Secret Powder Stash

Located in the Blue Mountains of southeastern Washington state, Bluewood is the state's secret powder stash.

The grooming is top notch and the tree skiing some of the best in the Northwest. Because Bluewood is located in a heavily timbered north-facing bowl, it gets good snow and holds it.

With the state's second highest base elevation of 4,545 feet, and a top elevation of 5,670 feet, the area gets an average of 300 inches of snowfall annually.

Bluewood has a run for everyone, regardless of skill level and desired challenge. There is tree skiing for the more adventurous and a half-pipe for snowboarders.

Bluewood's ski runs range from the gently sloping Country Road to the steep and heavily mogulled Jackhammer and Scorpio.

Lifts for Everyone

The Skyline Express chairlift serves the main mountain, accessing novice through expert terrain. The Triple Nickle chairlift services the half-pipe and an intermediate bowl that is an excellent place to work on your turns.

The "Easy Rider" platterpull is a surface tow that provides beginners with an area that is wide, gently sloped and well-groomed. Combined, the two triple chairs and platterpull can accommodate 3,950 skiers per hour, making lift lines short and often nonexistent.

Fully-certified and associate ski instructors offer specialized instruction for downhill, snowboarding, telemarking, children's programs, junior and masters racing and women's workshops.

There is a rental shop, ski shop and base lodging available, as well as a good mix of dining establishments nearby.

Bluewood is located only 21 miles from Dayton, 52 miles from Walla Walla and 54 miles from Pomeroy.
